Most rocks, sands, clays and also products such as bricks, tiles and concrete contain crystalline silica. When these materials are worked, eg cut, sanded, carved, ground etc, dust is created, part of which is sufficiently fine to be termed Respirable Crys

Employers have a range of actions presented in Stone dust and you - INDG315, this revised guidance will help them take the steps to comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended) (COSHH).
